if you don't want to spoil the ending of Deathly Hallows, don't click on the link below.
I mentioned that I was a little disappointed by the way that Deathly Hallows ended so abruptly. JK Rowling did a 90 minute web chat with fans and goes a little more in-depth into the future of the characters following the end of the story. It helps a little... better than the epilogue she included in the book.
Update: another link with more info on the fate of the characters.

NO ONE I know has read this book.
Hence I can't discuss this with anyone.
I thought the last part of the book was the best but it did just stop. I've read all the books and for pure escape from reality I love them.
I've been arguing with the few people who'll argue about it that there is more to Snape meets the eye (that's not a spoiler is it?)
okay.. i think since you have no one to discuss it with, its safe to write in some spoilers here.. so, if anyone reading this hasn't yet read the book and doesn't want the ending spoiled, just hit your back button...
with that said, I had a feeling going into the 7th book that Snape would pleasantly surprise me. But Rowling didn't make it so simply sweet that he was actually a good guy.. he really didn't like harry, as much as he hated james. it was only b/c he loved lily that he was willing to look out for harry. and he obviously cared about Dumbledore, or he wouldn't have carried out his wishes. but i wouldn't consider him a hero..

haha :)
I'd have to disagree. He protected the kid he didn't like and put his own life in major jeapordy for years in order to do right by Dumbeldore.
I'd say that gave him some right not to like the kid. It also sounds like Harry's dad was an ass much of the time so I'm willing to cut snape some slack.
I am glad she didn't make it sicky sweet though. He was complex and conflicted but in the end did the right thing.
Just my humble muggle (damn it) opinion.
I thought that Harry's aunt might have some secrets to reveal but nothing.
yeah, i was a little disappointed how his muggle family turned out in the book. All of a sudden they were out of the picture. At least dudley had good closure with harry.
i agree that snape had good reason to be bitter about james. its just a shame he wasn't a bigger person not to take it out on harry. but it isn't as if he went easy on the other students too. he was just a bitter man.
he did do the right thing, and im glad he turned out not to be evil. i had respect for the guy, i enjoyed his character in the stories and i was sad to see him die. i wanted dumbledore to be right about him. i just wish he wasn't so mean to harry, making him miss quidditch matches...
