YAY!
Yes We Did!
Barack has enough delegates to be the Democrat party's nominee. Soon enough Hillary's supporters will lick their wounds and support Barack Obama's presidential campaign. They just need some time to understand that their nominee, who ran her campaign with the assumption that she would be handed the party's nomination back in Iowa, will not be the nominee after all.
I hope and hope that he is not persuaded to pick her as his running mate. She would not be a VP, she would be a Co-President. It just isnt in her nature to play second fiddle. She'd continue to draw up controversy and say outlandish things to get more face-time in the news. It could never be about anyone but herself. She needs to go back to the Senate where she can play a very important role: getting his legislation passed.

I still don't think it is over. I'm pretty sure she will maneuver herself into the V.P. position. But if he does pick the Robot as a running mate I don't know if I can vote for him. I can vote for a black man and a white man no problem. I can vote for two black men, but a woman in the White House? I mean come on. Next thing you know we'll be giving the Iranians hugs and kisses on the cheek, making quilts with RED CHINA and watching American Idol with the RUSKIES! "I don't believe her song was labor oriented enough, three weeks in a labor camp ought to change her tune......haha I make funny!"
For the longest time I thought Webb was a sure bet, due to his military gravitas and appeal to Obama's weak demographic: ass-backwards Appalachia whites, who have become the new soccer moms.
Now, though, I'm not so sure. I've seen all the shortlists floating around and nobody seems to click properly.
As far as Hillary's chances, I'd say Obama's hiring of Jim Johnson to consult on his VP search is a sure sign that Hillary is out of the question. Johnson hates the Clintons. So there's that.
Anyway, not related, but enjoyable nonetheless:

I think Webb would be great too, as far as bringing in the dumb racists in west virginia. I don't know that much about him, but he definitely has whitie-appeal.
barack obama needs to win some of the western states or the southern states. I don't think Bill Richardson is the right man to do that. I was really hoping John Edwards would be game, but I don't think he'd lend much 'experience' to Obama's ticket.
I think Obama needs a steady figure, someone who isn't also considered a 'historic candidate' like Hillary. Jim Webb would fit that, but so would Joe Biden. He's from Delaware, which isn't going to help Obama that much, but does the VP's state really help that much anyway? I also like his website, its very open about the legislation he's sponsored:

I'm a pretty big Biden fan, but for the very reason I think he's a risk: he says exactly what he thinks at the moment, and very bluntly.
I see him as the perfect candidate for Secretary of State (it's been rumored he was to be in the Karry/Edwards cabinet in that role), having most foreign policy and diplomacy experience in the Democratic Party, and as the highest ranking Dem on the Senate Foreign relations Committee.
Edwards I think suits Attorney General more anything else. As far as Hillary goes, not only would Supreme Court justice service her (and Roe v Wade) extremely well, but it would also put her out to pasture politically.
I dunno, this is basically my fantasy football team.
i think these are great positions, but the only downside to having biden and clinton take cabinet/supreme court roles is that they would no longer be senators in a senate that is just barely Democrat controlled. But - getting new blood into the Senate is a good thing.
